Forticode has been recognised by Gartner, a leading global technology research and advisory company, in their latest report ‘Market Guide for User Authentication’.

The Gartner Report, published on 16 November 2017, provides insights and recommendations for businesses and organisations navigating through the issues of security in an expanding digital environment. The Report includes Forticode as one of forty Global Representative User Authentication Vendors.

Forticode is a Melbourne-based start-up cyber security company specialising in user authentication innovation to eliminate the threat of information and credential theft using the unique program Cipherise.

Cipherise transforms the user’s mobile phone into a digital key using a phone-as-a-token authentication program and mobile push app. Cipherise creates a personally-held digital identity that is never replicated or shared.

The Gartner Report found a growing need for mobile push methods in the user authentication market.

“User and customer experience as well as trust improvements, together with a desire to reduce total cost of ownership, fuel interest in new methods, such as mobile push,” the Report stated.

“Gartner projects that mobile push will become the dominant phone-as-a-token method over the next one to two years”.

Tony Smales, CEO and Founder of Forticode, stated the digital world and the associated risks continue to evolve and grow.

“There are so many exciting opportunities by being connected and engaging in a digital world, but there are also risks which need to be managed,” Mr Smales said.

“Each day many of us upload parts of our lives, work and information on the internet through various platforms and devices which can difficult to keep track of.”

“Cipherise gives control back to the user in a simple and easy to use platform, to stop personal information falling into the wrong hands.”

Forticode has recently partnered with EY to provide state of the art cyber security solutions through Cipherise. Forticode will initially focus on providing cybersecurity support to EY in Australia, with plans to expand to support organisations across Asia-Pacific.
